Introduction
The signing in 1992 of the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change marked the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at curbing the insouciance that until then existed about the emissions of certain gases into the atmosphere, mainly carbon dioxide and methane, causing of the increase in global temperature of the earth.
Later, with the signing of the Kyoto protocol in 1997, and its subsequent entry into force, the definitive endorsement was given to the inclusion, with more or less success, of the phenomenon in the governmental agendas of developed countries, in private investment and, ultimately, in the day-to-day and perception of civil society.
However, regardless of particular interests, there is still today a great lack of knowledge about the mechanisms of climate change and its repercussions on biodiversity, production systems and the population in general, hence the need to have qualified personnel to carry out actions. and make decisions in the fight against global warming.
The Master in Climate Change that is presented here responds to a need to train critical professionals in different sectors, who know how to look for alternatives and take advantage of the business opportunities derived from this phenomenon to formulate adaptation and mitigation plans in Research, Development and Innovation projects. .
For this reason, it is considered fundamental to prepare the student with a previous environmental base that allows them to understand the fundamental issues of climate change and, in this way, achieve, after studying the second part, an integrating vision of the problem at an environmental level, political-social and economic.
